If you have any questions or interesting reflections about the universe, don’t hesitate to reach out
Learn how to sew from scratch (in a straight line), read a pattern, iron fabric like your life depends on it, and get hooked on the feeling of making things with your own hands.
The workshop takes place in a cozy space at RechteSteek in Haarlem, with 5 students maximum, and runs for one full day from 10:00 to 16:00.
✦ Morning | 10:00 to 12:30: you meet your machine, give it a badass name, and learn threading, straight lines and how to read a simple pattern, using provided fabric scraps. Then you learn about fabrics, seams, hems and the importance of pressing.
✦ Lunch | 12:30 to 13:00: a 30 minute break to refuel.
✦ Afternoon | 13:00 to 16:00: you put your new skills to work and make a small pouch from start to finish (fabric and zipper included).
By the end of the day you’ll be able to use a sewing machine with confidence, and you’ll go home with something you made yourself. Oh, and you’ll be so damn proud.
