If you have any questions or interesting reflections about the universe, don’t hesitate to reach out
Do you already know your way around a sewing machine, have projects piling up in your head, but feel intimidated or not sure where to start?
Come join fellow sewing aficionados in a cozy space with all the tools and cookies you need, and someone (that’s me!) to help structure your project and learn all the endless possibilities of sewing.
The sessions take place at RechteSteek in Haarlem, with 5 students maximum, and consist of 5 evenings of 2 hours. You work on your own project at your own pace, and I come round to guide you with whatever you need:
✦ Reading and adjusting patterns (so you get the best fit) and choosing your fabric.
✦ Working out a cutting plan that wastes as little fabric as possible.
✦ Using neat tricks to really enhance your sewing game.
✦ Handling the tricky parts: zippers, collars, sleeves, buttonholes, slippery fabrics.
✦ Fixing mistakes, which is my favorite way to learn.
Bring a project that feels doable in about 10 hours of sewing and at your skill level. If you’re not sure what to bring, feel free to reach out beforehand, or we can work it out together in the first session.
By the end of the five sessions you’ll have made something you’ll be proud to wear and learned a few tricks to brag about. Oh, and your project pile will be out of control (sorry).
